BAD PRESS currently offers several publications for use by shelters, schools, and rescue groups:
"Before You Pass Me By..." is an informative pamphlet on the history and nature of Pit Bulls and AmStaffs. Designed to be offered in shelters (ideally in kennel card pockets on the front of each pit bull's cage), this publication contains facts about Pit Bulls, a list of famous Pit Bull owners, and tips for responsible dog ownership.
We also offer a "Handbook For Pit Bull Adopters" designed to educate those new to the breed, or those adopting a rescued pit bull for the first time. The pamphlet addresses the history of the breed and issues specific to owning a pit bull, such as appropriate containment and the selection of breed-appropriate toys, leashes, and crates. An explanation of canine aggression and a recommended reading list are also included. The cover of the handbook can be customized with the name and logo of your shelter or rescue group (email for details).
Our double-sided "Pit Bull Positive Press" factsheet contains several stories of heroic pit bulls, including Popsicle, an abused puppy who grew up to be a talented drug detection dog, and Weela, a pit bull who saved numerous people and animals during a tragic flood.
"Staying Safe: Dog Bite Prevention" is a single-sided, easy-to-read factsheet which addresses proper behavior around a strange dog, canine warning signals, and safe practices to reduce the risk of inciting a dog attack.
"Faulty Logic: How Skewed Statistics and Flaunted Figures Taint Public Opinion" is an erudite explanation of how statistics can be misread and misrepresented to taint public opinion, creating many of the myths and misconceptions surrounding "dangerous" dog breeds.
We are constantly updating our materials and looking for new ideas. If you have suggestions for new products, please feel free to contact us!

The BAD PRESS dogs have also successfully assisted in counseling dog bite victims, helping them overcome their fear of dogs and gain the confidence and knowledge needed to avoid becoming repeat victims.
Information & Advertising Exchange
Would your organization like to reach a wider audience? BAD PRESS is happy to exchange informational literature and advertising with fellow animal welfare and rescue organizations, dog trainers, and dog-related businesses. We'll be happy to give your worthy cause or dog-friendly business some exposure in exchange for similar exposure through your organization or company.
